Surfing at WaveHouse Surf Camp Canggu

At WaveHouse Canggu, your safety and progress come first. Our certified coaches run daily lessons and select the best surf spots each morning based on ocean conditions and your skill level. Every night's stay includes two surf sessions as part of our all inclusive package, so all you need to think about is catching waves.

Surf Skills for Every Level

Whether you are standing on a board for the first time or working on sharper turns and reading the lineup, WaveHouse Canggu welcomes beginners, intermediates, and advanced surfers. Each session is tailored to where you are in your surfing journey so you always feel challenged but never out of your depth.

Surf All Year Round

Canggu delivers consistent waves every month of the year. During the dry season from April to October, clean swells and offshore winds create ideal conditions across the coastline. When the wet season arrives, the breaks still fire with powerful south swells and fewer crowds in the water. No matter when you visit, Canggu always has a wave waiting.

Personalized Surf Coaching

Every surfer learns differently, and our coaching reflects that. Group classes run with a maximum of 3 students per coach so you get real attention in the water. If you want even more focused guidance, private and semi private sessions are available. Beyond the waves, we run surf theory on land and personal video analysis after each session so you can see exactly what to improve.

Surf Spots Around Canggu

From mellow beach breaks for your first pop up to powerful reefs around that test your limits, Canggu's coastline covers the full range. Our coaches pick the best spot each day based on ocean conditions and your ability, so you are always surfing the right wave at the right time.

FAQ's

How many surf sessions are included per day?

Two surf sessions are included daily as part of your stay. Each session is two hours with hands on coaching in the water, plus surf theory on land and video analysis to help you progress faster between sessions.

How are surf spots chosen each day?

Our coaches check ocean conditions every morning and select the best spot based on the swell, tide, wind, and your skill level. We have quick access to both the east and west coasts, so there is always somewhere good to surf regardless of the season.

What is the group size for surf lessons?

We keep groups small with a maximum of 1 instructor per 2 to 3 students. This means you get personal attention and feedback in the water. Private and semi private sessions are also available if you want one on one coaching.

Are the surf instructors certified?

Yes. All WaveHouse instructors are ISA certified and lifeguard qualified. They combine professional training with years of local experience reading Bali's waves and coaching surfers of all levels.

Do I need to bring my own surfboard and equipment?

No. Surfboards and rashguards are provided for every session as part of your package. If you prefer to bring your own board, you are welcome to do so, and we offer surfboard insurance as an add on to cover any damage.

What surf levels do you cater to?

We coach all levels from complete beginners through to intermediate surfers. Our program is structured across four levels, starting from your first time standing up all the way through to reading waves and improving your technique on green waves.

Can I join if I have never surfed before?

Absolutely. Many of our guests are first time surfers. You will start with surf theory on land to understand the basics before heading into the water, and our coaches will be with you every step of the way. With small groups and daily video analysis, most beginners are standing up and riding waves within their first few sessions.
